Last year we bought a Lyttelton classic – a hundred years of borer-filled timber held together by generations of bodged ‘repairs’ and restrained from sliding down the hill by an armful of crumbling scoria. Other builders’ assessments ranged from the ‘she’ll be right, just jack and pack it’ to the insanely complicated and expensive. But Dirk took the time to figure out how to unpick decades of bad workmanship and relevel the old girl. The work he and his team did was carefully thought-out and extremely thorough, and the quality excellent. He worked with us, listening to our concerns and helping us to find solutions to new problems as and when they occurred.
